Original Story
David Wilcock, Ancient Aliens Researcher and UAP Disclosure Voice, Has Died at 53. Rep. Luna Made the Announcement.
On the morning of April 20, 2026, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of Ridge Road, northeast of Nederland, Colorado, following a 911 call received at 10:44 a.m. The emergency communications specialist who took the call noted indicators suggesting the caller may have been in a mental health crisis. Deputies arrived at 11:02 a.m. and encountered a man outside the residence holding a weapon. Within minutes of their arrival, the man used the weapon on himself and was pronounced dead at the scene. Boulder County detectives are conducting a joint investigation with the Boulder County Coroner’s Office. The Coroner’s Office had not officially released the identity of the deceased as of April 22, pending formal identification and next-of-kin notification. The connection between the incident and paranormal author and YouTuber David Wilcock was first publicly stated by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida on April 21. David Wilcock was 53.
Luna, who chairs the House Oversight Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets — the task force that issued the April 14 deadline to the Pentagon for 46 classified UAP videos — posted on X on April 21: “We just learned of the tragic passing of David Wilcock. We are praying for his family and loved ones and the millions of lives he impacted. John 8:32.” The biblical reference is to the verse: “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
The post from a sitting member of Congress who leads the primary UAP transparency effort in the House was widely interpreted within the UAP and paranormal research communities as official confirmation. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office had not, as of publication, released a formal identification.
Who David Wilcock Was
Wilcock was born March 8, 1973, and lived in Nederland, Colorado — the same mountain community outside which the April 20 incident occurred. He built one of the largest audiences in the UFO disclosure and paranormal research space over two decades as a writer, lecturer, and media personality.
He appeared as a recurring guest on the History Channel’s Ancient Aliens, one of the most widely watched programs in the UFO-adjacent documentary space, discussing theories about extraterrestrial influence on ancient civilizations. He hosted Wisdom Teachings with David Wilcock on Gaia TV beginning in 2013, a long-running series that explored consciousness, hidden history, suppressed science, and what he believed were deliberate obstructions of UAP disclosure by deep-state institutional actors. His YouTube channel, at time of death, had more than 500,000 subscribers. His books and lectures reached audiences internationally, and his influence within the New Age and UAP disclosure communities was substantial.
Within those communities, Wilcock was both celebrated and contested. Supporters found his synthesis of disclosure research, ancient mystery traditions, and consciousness science compelling and transformative. Critics argued that many of his specific claims could not be independently verified and that his framing blurred the line between documented evidence and personal intuition. His reach was, regardless of those debates, genuinely significant.
The Days Before
Wilcock had been publicly active in the days immediately preceding his death. On April 18, he posted on social media that he had “some very intense stuff going on this weekend” and expressed uncertainty about whether he would do a scheduled show. He did go on to conduct a 3.5-hour live session on April 19 — his final public appearance — in which he discussed the April 14 UAP video deadline that had passed without confirmed Pentagon compliance, Trump’s “Turning Point” promise that disclosure was coming soon, and the developing geopolitical situation involving Iran. His final social media message, posted to his followers on April 19, read: “Always remember that the Creator is within and we live in a loving universe.”
The circumstances of his passing were, for reasons that require no elaboration given the documented April 20 events, the subject of immediate and intense discussion across online communities connected to his work. Several commentators noted that Wilcock had, in his April 19 session, discussed the deaths and disappearances of researchers connected to UAP topics. These online discussions do not represent verified information and the Fringe Feed will report only what law enforcement and official sources confirm.
The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will release a formal identification and determination of cause and manner of death. The Fringe Feed will update when that release is made.
